President's Day in Tripp Canyon

We decided we wanted to spend the day hiking and Geocaching.  I found a couple of Geocaches up Tripp Canyon and out towards Klondike.  We picked up Jess, Jordan and David at Jess' and Kason (Darius' best friend) also met us there.  We gassed up and tried to find the road to Tripp Canyon, which took us a little bit to find.  It wasn't easy.  It was a neat road up the west side of Mt. Graham (actually the Pinaleno Mountains).  We got to the first Geocache and make the short trek to the cache.

We finally get sweet little David into his carrier and he just snuggles next to his beautiful Mom!  We are now ready to find our first cache!

Here is the crew Kason, Jessica, David, Darius, Tyanne, Tyson, Jordan and Me.  We are following Tyson to the area where the cache is.  It was a beautiful day!

We found the cache and it was near a grave out here in the middle of nowhere.  Just makes you wonder who he was and why he was buried out here.

As we were headed up towards our next cache we found this little patch of snow.  We had to stop so Jordan and David could see it up close.  With Jordan being from Yuma, he hasn't seen much snow in his lifetime.  So this is David's very first snow!

Here Mom is helping him make his first snowball!

Here we were looking for the next cache and Kason took the lead.  We never did end up finding it, but we still had a lot of fun.

Obviously some more then others!

LOL...got caught!

So Darius and Kason found quite a few clay pigeons so we decided to play ball with them.  It was a lot of fun.

Jordan one handing it...can he do it?

Jessica....funniest thing ever...if I was taking her picture she could not hit it.  She probably tried 30 times, but as soon as I put the camera down she would smack it!

Tyson thinks he can do better with a bigger stick.

Jordan trying again.

Mom rocks the big stick and the pigeons!

Poor Darius is just really hurting.  So on our way up here there was one corner that had a lot of snow.  As we were going around the corner there was a sign and I told Tyson to stop because I wanted to read it, which was a bad idea.  As we were trying to get going again we kept sliding around and got stuck.  The wheels just kept sliding on the ice.  So we decided to get out and put some sticks under the tires.  The ice was super, super slippery.  Darius went to throw a stick and literally both of his feet came straight out from under him and he landed right on his tailbone.  It was really really funny but I could tell he was really hurting and it continued to hurt him pretty bad throughout the day.

Kason, trying his hand at the big stick and the pigeon and he smashed it out of the forrest!

Such a sweet picture!  David and his Dad!

We just spent a lot of time taking picture of this photogenic baby!  He just has the sweetest face and the camera just loves him!

Taking my turn with this sweet face!  I just love this good natured, loving, smiley baby!

I love him so much, sometimes I just want to eat his face!

He just has the prettiest big blue eyes!

Gosh...you just can't help but smile looking at this picture!  Just such a happy boy!

A family outing wouldn't be complete without doing a family music video.  We chose Pentatonix to sing with today, we love them!  Here is the first one.

Here is our second.  We would have done more but when the car started having issues we were more worried about that.

Our third cache for the day.  This one had a story to go with it about a robbery and a shoot out at these rocks.  So Tyanne is reading us the story while Darius and Kason check out the treasure!

Jessica, David and Tyson making their way up to the cache.

Well as we are making our way to the third, fourth and fifth caches (there just happened to be 3 right close together), the car all of a sudden keeps dying.  It is like it isn't getting any gas.  It had done this once before and Rob thought it was because we had gotten water in the gas tank and we did just top off the car in Pina just before coming out.  Great!  So here is Tyson trying to get a cell signal to call his friend's dad and ask him what he thinks.  He teaches Auto Mechanics at the high school.

Looks like they got a picture of me heading out behind one of those trees!

So Tyson is staying with the car.  If we leave it off for a few minutes it would start back up again so we would walk ahead sometimes and at time he would go ahead and we would have to catch up.

Tyson giving me a ride after taking a hike to the trees!

Tyanne giving David a ride!  He seem very happy about it!

The kids walking up ahead to the next cache.  What a sweet scene I love it when the kids get a long!

Here is Jess, David and Me bringing up the rear!

Jessica getting her groove on!

Even though we are in the desert...the scene was really beautiful!  Kinda crazy, within a matter of minutes we have gone from being up in the pines to being in the desert.

David walking with his Mom.

Tyanne signing the paper in the last Geocache.  We only hit one of the three caches' here because for one the car was really giving us issues and two we actually couldn't really drive to the last two.  The ravines were just too deep, we actually got stuck and had to push the suburban out.  The poor suburban had a really rough day.  It took us a while to get home because it just kept dying.  We would have to sit for about 5 minutes and then it would start back up again.  We eventually made it back home after a great adventure!
