Jess and Oklahoma!

Well a lot has happened since my last blog Jessica has been working hard on her play....it is amazing anyone who wants to see pictures and read about it can go to the link I have in my blogs to the Oklahoma site. She has been just amazing! It is so crazy to see my daughter singing and acting on stage and doing a wonderful job at it. I have so many thoughts and I just have a hard time collecting them. The first time I watched it was such a sureal feeling. I just couldn't help but cry. She is getting so old and she has just turned out to be just a beautiful person on the inside and out. Anyone who hasn't seen it needs to go see...there is one weekend left! It is well worth it! All of them are just wonderful Matt Bloomfield plays Curly and has an incredible voice and Joseph Bailey does a great job at being a bad guy! Britney Kay is just as bubbly and funny as ever and Trever Merrill is doing a wonderful job! There is also another cast, I have heard they were good to but, I haven't watched them yet.

This was Emery and I at Sunrise on Thursday trying our hand at snowboarding! Well it was pretty fun for the first half of the day...the second half was tiresome...and our legs were very sore and burning. We would have to stop halfway down the hill and just take a rest. It was fun just spending the day with her and I have to say that she was amazing...

We went with the High School and several of her friend said "We can teach you!" I had been once before and had taken a lessen, but she had no fear....she went straight to the top for her first time and came right down...she did great. She spent half her time waiting for me! She is such a sweetheart.

Our Christmas!

You know I was doing so good with this whole bloging thing till I found facebook...then I find myself looking and spending a ton of time on there! Jackie it is all your fault....lol! Well I would count myself as ungrateful if I didn't spend a little time talking about my holidays...I am not much of a story teller and no one thing in particular happened....it was just kind of the magic of the entire season.

First of all we knew that we would not have a normal Christmas because with Rob working out of town and on shift work we were not going to have our Christmas until Saturday Morning...December 27. So every Christmas my Mom, Brothers and Sister draw names and give each other a special gift, that way we don't have to buy presents for everyone...and everyone gets one...saves a lot on money, but it is fun to find that special present for the one person you have. We have found you really learn a lot about that person! Well my Aunt Shana has moved here from California and is living with my Mom til her house gets built....so we also added her to our gift exchange...this was a special treat because living in California she doesn't get to visit a lot. Next we were talking with my Uncle Josh and his wife when we were staying down in the valley with them and they were saying that they were going to be up for that Saturday...which was also a treat because we also don't get to see them that often.....so then we also added them and there daughter Melinda to our gift exchange. Then my Dad was also coming that Saturday...so we also added him to our gift exchange. This was an extra special treat for me. Over my lifetime I have not spent a great deal of time with my Dad, but over the last two years I have seen him a lot more. He came last Christmas and spent almost a week, which was a load of fun, then he came for one of Robby's football games, which was absolutely wonderful...but for him to come shortly after that for Christmas and spend a week with us.....well I can't tell you how excited I was. Well we also had one more suprise visit and that was from Rob's brother Drew, from Las Vegas! He got here Friday afternoon. It was amazing...my most favorite people in the world were all going to be here to spend Christmas with us!

Well...our Christmas Eve....Friday night...we spent at the Dog House and had a blast...we had a air hockey tournament and I was worried all night....Rob was on his way home and called and said he was stuck in Globe...they had closed the roads for the night. So poor Rob had to stay in the car all night waiting for it to open. So Dad got to my house at about midnight on Friday night...he got there early so he could see us open our presents...so Saturday morning we all headed to my Mom's house with all our presents in tow...and had to wait for Rob to arrive...to open presents. My poor kids...lol they were fine waiting a couple of days...it was the last few hours that killed them waiting for their Dad to make his way home! When Rob came in the door it was wonderful........Christmas with my entire family! Mom, Dad, Brothers, Sister, Kids, and some very special guests that is what Christmas is about Family! We started opening about 10 and Rob took his place as the passer outer of the presents and we ...for the first time...really took our time opening presents and enjoying being together opening presents from each other, laughing, and having a great time.

Then came the eating! Holy Cow...can my family cook and eat! Well most of the cooking came from my Dad! The first night my Dad cooked us all Orange Roughy Fish...and to anyone who knows me I HATE FISH! Well he made the best fish I had ever had! Don't ask me...he had it in Milk and other things, but it was really good! Next on the menu was Crawfish (otherwise known as crawdads) Louisianna style with red potatoes and corn on the cob...and gumbo. WOW! This was good! We had a blast sitting around the table peeling and eating them...it was fun. Next came his famous chili..well that was good too, but the topper for that night was the cactus dip he made. It literally had prickly pear cactus in it! It was wonderful! Next but not least was the making of Tamales...yes we spent all day Thursday making tamales. Amy and Dad took the lead on this. I had never made them before, this was quite an adventure! Boy were they good, and I think we ended up with about 20 or so dozen. So in between eating our delicious meals we played a ton of Rock Band, went out shooting, and one of the funnest adventures was geocaching out by woodruff. It was one week that I will truly never forget! Family....Food....and.... Fun!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Well we had somewhat of a different Halloween this year! With Robby playing football and Halloween being on Friday that was pretty much our Halloween. Although we had a trunk or treat with our ward on Thursday night and after that Mom, Sara, and I went to the haunted corn maze. This was the scarriest, funniest thing we have ever done! We laughed, screamed, ran, froze, fell, and laughed some more! So then on Friday we met over at Mom's and took the kids to about 5 houses and then we had to hit the Udahls house for the annual Witches Brew (homemade rootbeer!), it just wouldn't have been Halloween without it. Then we hit the Football game agianst Payson....which ended badly, but hey that was our Halloween!

Jessica, My Senior Soccer Player's last game!

Well the top two pictures are right after Jessica's last ever soccer game in high school on Saturday agianst Desert Christian...which I have to say was very distressing to me...but not quite as bad as the bottom picture which was Senior night where they called the parents on to the field and honored the Seniors and gave the parents a candy bar...I couldn't keep the tears back that night. Coach Merrill has been her coach for the past 6 years. He was her basketball coach in Jr. High for two years and for the 4 years of Soccer in High School! I can't believe she is a senior and will be graduating this year.....I have been dreading this since she was born!

Snowflake's Flag Girls!

Here is Jessica and Emery with there Lobo Flags! They have worked hard with the band and look good playing and performing for halftime!

Phoenix Coyote's Game!

video

Here is a little clip of what we experienced at the game....it was a blast!

Phoenix Coyote's Game!

Well this was a great time! Rob called me Wednesday and said he had recieved 4-$100.00 tickets to the Phoenix Coyotes for Thursday night. So we called up my Uncle Josh and Aunt Amy and we met them down there and had a total blast! I had never been to a Hockey game and this was so much fun....and we had wonderful seats! And to top off the night the Coyote's actually won 2 to 1! Then Rob and I got to spend the night all by ourselves and come back Friday just in time for the big Snowflake vs. Blue Ridge game.

Robby trying to put on my Mum!

Homecoming Assembly!

Homecoming!

Well this week was quite a fun week with Homecoming and all....Monday was the Madrigal's Ice Cream Social. Jessica and Rocky did a song that was really cute, and she always has a blast and does a great job singing and just being on stage. Tuesday was a busy night...Jessica and Emery played soccer played Holbrook they won and the score was 7 to 1. Also, Tyson and Tyanne had a Show Choir concert and it was very cute and they did a great job. Wednesday Emery and Jessica went to Payson for a regional band day and performed. Thursday was the Bon Fire and Jessica was in charge of lighting the S on the hill. She was really excited. This night was also my sister-in-law's baby shower. It was a very big shower! She got a lot of cute things! Friday was the exciting day...well for me....but poor Robby's date was on the volleyball team and they had a tournament and left Thursday and was gone all weekend. They thought it was next weekend but ended up being this weekend. So needless to say he was without a date for Homecoming. Friday morning was the assembly it was really fun and they did a great job. Then of course was the Homecoming parade, it was short and sweet...lots of candy! Emery marched with the band as a flag girl and Jessica was with her float and of course Robby was on the fire truck with the football players. Then....it was the big game against Alchesay.....we won 32-8! The only bad thing was Robby didn't make a TD....his first game without a TD and he had all his uncles there to watch! Uncle Dahl, Josh, Jason, and Jared....but no TD, but he did make an interception! Well Jessica and Emery also performed at halftime as flag girls with the band, they did a great job! They 17 flag girls! They are really good!

Tyson and his arm agian!

Well I have a lot to catch up on...On September 18, Tyson had another traumatic experience, his pins in his arm got infected and so I had to take him back to Flagstaff and they took off his cast and his arm was soooo swollen. It also had blisters on it where the cast was, they think he may have been allergic to something to do with the cast. But you could hardly see the pins sticking out since his arm was so swollen. So they took an x-ray to see if his arm had healed well enough to take out his pins. Well it had grown really well. So he sent a PA to take out the pins......no numbing...just a pair of plier like instrument. I sat behind him holding him, as he burried his head in my neck and held my hand tightly. She tried several times to try to get them out but her pliers kept slipping off the pins....it was horrible! He was screaming. I was crying. Finally she stopped and she went to go talk to the Dr., finally the Dr. came in and apollogized and that it was unusual that the pins were not just slipping out. So he told us that he would have to put him under anesthesia to get them out the next morning...so that is what we did! Afterwards the Dr. said that his bone had grown back so well that it had grown some to the pins and that could have been why it was getting infected, that his body was healing and was now rejecting them and wanting them out.

Darius ran for Snowflake Intermediate Secretary!

Darius ran this week for Secretary at the Snowflake Intermediate School. I was so proud of him, he did this all on his own. Tuesday we spent the evening making posters for him. So on Friday he had to get up in front of the school and give a speech. Friday morning he asked me to look over his speech he had written and after reading I just couldn't change a word. Here was his speech:

"My fellow students I would like to be secretary because I would be a great one and help the school. I'd make school a fun and better place. I'd try to make us go on fun field trips like go to the Snowflakes or Show Low pool, Grand Canyon and the Meteor Crater and other really fun stuff but I would like to be secretary because I'd go to meetings help people and I would really appreciate everyone who votes for me and be really good students. I really want to do this job and I would be a good secretary. It would be a fun job. I like it a lot, but to all the students that don't vote for me it's ok because I know that the other people running for secretary would be great also. I would be okay if one of them won because I know they would do a great job for secretary. Thank you for listening and remember to vote for Darius for secretary."

Well he didn't end up winning, but he did a great job and I am very proud of him!

Well Robby also had a football game on Friday and they played Holbrook. He did really well, no touchdowns this game but he caught an Interception, a long pass where he got to the 1 yard line, several short passes, and he got several good tackles. They won 33 to 0.
This was from last weeks game.

Jessica and Emery playing Soccer!

Jessica and Emery both played soccer on Saturday. They played St. Johns, and they are really good. This was Emery's first game and did an excellent job she played really agressive and she is the middle half-back, for her first game she was amazing!
They lost 1-0. Jessica played right after and also did a great job...poor thing she seems to run all over the field, from one end to the other defending the goal since she is the left full-back, but she also throws all the balls in from the left side and does all the free kicks...and she is amazing kicking in with her left foot! They also lost 4-0.

Lobos From Page 14

kmorris@wmicentral.com

No receivers return to the varsity. Seniors Gavin Russell (6-4, 190) and Travis Reddick (5-6, 135) and junior Robbie Martindell (6-0, 150) will be among the receiving corps.
“Gavin has good speed and incredible hands,” Larsen said. “We play him a lot at tight end, too. Robbie has good hands and good instincts and Travis is a good little receiver.”
It’s an entirely new offensive line, although junior Jason McCray (6-2, 230) did start start the final three games of the season at guard after spending most of the season on the junior varsity. He was hampered by a spinal injury last season but hopes to remain healthy as he shifts to center this fall. “He was one of the best players we had on our JV team,’ Larsen said He’s a strong kid and he’s a big kid.”
Junior Coltyn Reidhead (6-3, 235) is at left guard after seeing action at tight end in 2007, while senior Eric Mills (5-9, 255) takes over at right guard. Senior Terel Nichols (6-0, 195) and junior Tarrin Tanner (6-2, 165) are at the tackles. Tanner started the last three or four games there a year ago.
“If I had to pick between last year’s line and and this year’s, I’d take this year’s,” Larsen said. “Athletically and mentally, they’re better prepared as far as knowing the offense. We’ve had a year to train them. It’s one of the better crews that we’ve had in a while.
“I think we’re going to be explosive. We’ve got guys who can move. Having linemen who can pull, lead block and play anywhere on the field is going to be important.”
Most offensive starters will also start on defense. “Take everybody and flip them over and that’s basically where they’re playing,” Larsen said.
The linebacking corps is strong with all four of the returning starters on defense back there in the 3-5 scheme. Nichols (MLB), Matt Reidhead (left-side LB), Hoopes (right-side LB) and Hunt (left OLB) all started a year ago. Junior Dustin Richards (5-9, 150) joins them at right outside linebacker.
The starting defensive line consists of: McCray at nose guard, Coltyn Reidhead at one end and Tanner and Russell at the other end. Mills and senior John Damper (5-9, 250) add depth at nose guard. “They’ll rotate and make sure we can keep them fresh,” Larsen said.
Martindell and sophomore Trevor Reddick (5-6, 130) will play free safety, sophomore Brandt Perkins (5-9, 150) will move between linebacker and strong safety. Travis Reddick and junior Jacob Jaurez (5-6, 130) are the cornerbacks.
Matt Reidhead takes over the kicking and punting duties. “He can kick it in the endzone every time,” Larsen said.

Robby the Sports Zone Paper

Boy what a week!

Well this has been quite a week! It started with Michael's mom getting in a car accident here in Snowflake and she ended up passing away! It was so incredibly sad! Sara and Michael are doing well considering everything they have had to deal with in the last week. They are amazing!

Well Tyanne had a softball game on Thursday they played Show Low and they won 13-0. She did really good!

Friday was a fun and exciting day! It started out with Emery and I going to Show Low and watching Jessica's first game of her Soccer tournament. They played Round Valley and won 4-1. They played Kirtland and lost 4-0 also that day but we had to leave right after the first game to make it to Sedona to watch Robby's football game. Emery and I went to Sedona with Mom, Jared and Brenda.....we had a blast! We got there a little late trying to find the stadium just at the end of the 1st quarter. Josh and Amy also met us there, they got stuck behind an accident but they got there just after half time. When we got there the score was tied 6 to 6, and shortly after Sedona scored it was then 13 to 6. After that we scored several times....Robby made two great catches and an interception for a three touchdowns and Matt Reidhead scored several times as well as Travis and Trever Reddick. We eventually won the game at 55 to 13.

Saturday was the funeral for Michael's mom, Betty Winder, it was very nice. Jessica played the piano for one of the songs his brother Daryl Winder and his two friends Jason and Jeremy Owens sang. It was called "In the Garden", and they did a really nice job. The entire funeral was really nice. We then went to the luncheon and the BBQ was to die for! It was done by Dave Wood! That afternoon we went to the practice field and watched and played the kids with some of Michael's family play Street Football and that was a blast!

Tyanne's Softball game

Tyanne had a softball game today. They played Joseph City and won 18-1. Tyanne plays 1st base and does a great job. She also hit a triple. She did a great job!

Tyson and his new cast.

Well we went to Flagstaff today to have Tyson's splint taken off. He has to wear this beautiful Lobo Blue and White cast for 4 weeks then he can have the 3 pins taken out.

These were two fun pictures I took of Jessica and Robby when we went to Salt Lake for the Choir Trip in April!

This was a fun picture I took on the top of Mt.Graham!

Tyson just before surgery!

Poor Tyson in the Hospital

Robby playing football this year!

Well Robby had his wisdom teeth out on Friday and yesterday (Saturday) he just had to play in the scrimage agianst Monument Valley.

He said "Oh Mom, I probably will only play like one play, it won't be that big of a deal."

Well when I got there he was already in the game, and stayed in the entire time the Varsity was in, defense and offense! He made two touchdowns on top of that! Crazy kid! It was the first time I have had a chance to watch him. It was really fun.

We also had a cast party for the play that me and my girls were in this summer. It was Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat! Talk about a blast! We actually got to watch it last night. It was really strange watching yourself on stage. I will post some pictures as soon as I get them. They are supposed to be giving us some and as soon as I get them I will put them on

August 22, 2008

Well things have been really crazy here lately. Robby got his wisdom teeth out today and Tyson ended up having surgery this week on his arm. Ya, he broke it on a $20 dare to stand there while a bigger kids football tackled him...Well he ended up with a arm with two completely broken arms. So last wednesday he had surgery on it in Flagstaff and had 3 pin placed in it.

So this evening I went to dinner with Mom, Jess, Daniel, Richard, Roy, Brook, and Sara at Eva's for Mom's birthday tomorrow. It was a lot of fun!

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Well here is my first blog!

Well I am actually home with Tyson who just had surgery on his right arm from a football accident....sad!
